This course was a small group all Brit exponents course conducted out of our second stand-alone training facility in Thailand.
The second stand-alone facility is a satellite facility closer to the course accommodation.
This now enables the conducting of full muster and larger courses at our Todd Group Thailand CQC training primary location and a second small group training location.
There have been considerably more attendees and enquiries coming from the United Kingdom of recent.
This courses circuit included Southeast Asia and Europe.
Thailand being our international hub country for over 30 years is also a country where we are involved in business including the import of Muay Thai products and equipment.
This visit to Thailand included training, new business interests and a buying trip for our fight times supplies including resupply of our Sandee brand high quality product lines.
Our in-country facilitators took care of all our logistics and training, location and equipment needs.
The addition of the small group satellite training facility close to all amenities reduced daily travel time and has proven its worth on this first course to be conducted there.
A full week long Phase 1 Basic course of instruction was conducted and completed.
There was no Phase 1 Basic test conducted on this course of instruction.
Advance planning was conducted for the next course in Thailand in November, this course will be for phase 3 specialist proponents.
The recently added Phase 1 Basic ground combat component was delivered on this course of instruction as well as an introduction to detainee handling control and restraint.
We are most fortunate to have had the same Thai national facilitators taking care of all our in- country requirements for so long.
Combining this with our long-term contacts and connections, allies and associates conducting training in Thailand is a well-established and supported undertaking.
From the courses we conduct at are now primary and satellite facility as well as the course we conduct in other parts of Thailand and out of other facilities our footprint has increased by considerable.
Being able to conduct Basic, Advanced and Specialist courses of instruction including our close personal protection dual country exported to Thailand component that includes training exercises, provides a unique experience for attendees.
It is most beneficial for close personal protection courses attendees to be able to undertake training exercises. advance work and training exercises in a country where English is not the first spoken language.
Attracting attendees on CQC and MSD courses from the United Kingdom and other countries was always the intention when establishing training provision in Thailand our international hub country so they did not have to travel long haul flights down under to New Zealand.
While the conducting of courses in Thailand over more than three decades is a formality for us it is all about identifying, training, testing and qualifying those that are up for the challenges and have achieved high level confidence and competency in the Basic Phase 1 training.
Thailand also acts as an exported courses location for a Phase 2 Advanced and Phase 3 Specialist members wanting to experience the heat and humidity of Thailand as well as enjoying the cuisine and culture.
The warm waters fit well with our amphib close combat and self-defence training.
Coming up to our centennial celebrations in 2027 recent courses attendees have confirmed their attendance and not only for the Centenary celebrations but also the Centenary week-long Phase 1 Basic course for all ranks.
This most recent Thailand course included our signature stamp kicks training supported by full strategies and contingencies for static and momentum generated long-range unarmed offensive assault stamp kicking skills executions.
The unarmed counter offensive assault included the Phase 1 Basic primary secondary and emergency threat neutralisation capabilities.
Our CQC and MSD packages being made up of evolving tradecraft training skills sets are most current proven primary practices and this ensures new entry exponents and continuation training exponents receive training our best of most proven effective tactics and skills.
There were recently introduced new evasive counter engagement and ambush phase weapons disarming primary practices introduced to the attendees on this course.
CQC skills to command drill, as always, was included on the course to ensure exponents learn the skills by title and execution.
A primary emphasis is put on grabs holds and seizure prevention over escapes before escaping all insecure and secure holds and grabs are instructed.
The non-ballistic weapons disarming includes short and long weapons of the sharp edged and bludgeon types under both incoming entry assault and at weapon point edge or shaft under ambush threats.
Those wanting to volunteer for Phase 1 testing must have completed at minimum a one week long intensive course or 100 hours of HQ or depots training and must been evaluated under tocs (tests of competency) to determine if they are ready to undertake testing.
Down time at the group stay accommodation provides the opportunity to get to know new entry exponents and to enjoy the cuisine, shopping and Thai culture.
There is an expected code of conduct to be adhered to on all Todd Group conducted courses as training in our military close quarters combat and military self-defence as a civilian enthusiasts is a privilege and not a given right.
Those that cannot take orders and follow instructions or that cannot conduct themselves as responsible, respectful individuals on and off course may well find that the current course may be their last.
Responsible mature courses attendees of integrity do not want to train with those that are disruptive, interfere with the continuity of training or bring them or the group into disrepute by their actions.
Just like under training and testing where there is no place to hide and every strength weakness positive and negative trait is blatantly obvious so are individuals actions out of training on exported and Camp Todd conducted residential courses.
Everything about courses conducting is about ensuring those in attendance conduct themselves in the required and expected manner.
Mandatory training hours made up of courses attendance including at Todd Group HQ, Camp Todd and exported courses to our international hub country of Thailand and other international depot’s locations are top training experiences and also provide the instructing team to get to know and evaluate not only the attendees skills capabilities but also the characters of individual attendees.
Negative traits and character flaws and behavioural issues will be dealt with directly and there will be no uncertainties as to the requirements and outcomes which is most important in regard to ensuring the maintained integrity and standards of the group are upheld.
Those that attend HQ, Camp Todd and exported courses of instruction get to undertake unique training experiences and the benefits of living CQC on intensive course of instruction are considerable.
We conduct our civilian enthusiasts training and intensive courses of instruction in the same way we have conducted our military courses for decades and this comes down to civi enthusiasts abiding by and living up to their codes of conduct declarations and application agreements.
They must understand that as a civilian training in our military close combat and military self- defence comes with responsibilities.
Serious, dedicated and committed training on course attendees thrive under the training regime that is all about setting and maintaining the highest standards.
They expect nothing less than discipline positive bastardisation when required and striving for combative excellence.
There is no need for reasons or excuses for not complying with conditions or codes of conduct or for not being committed or achieving objectives and increased competency capabilities as it all comes down to putting in the effort, accepting the challenges and surpassing the requirements and levels to achieve advancement and rank.
We get so many questions about what is expected and required and included such information in course reports is yet another way to ensure anyone undertaking or intending to undertake training knows what is expected and required to maintain membership and membership privileges.
The advantage of small group courses is that attendees get maximum training time and instructor attention and this was the case on the most recent Thailand course.
Completing post-course duties and business requirements and then it was off to Germany for the annual Phase 1 Basic and Phase 2 Advanced courses of instruction.
