We have had high demand for the upcoming February and March courses that includes high numbers applications for our February HQ intake induction.

Note: The course cut-off dates in the courses/training joining information instructions and ensure your applications are in before the course closing cut-off date to avoid missing out.

Unfortunately if you miss out it means waiting until the next available course as we are the only providers of our close combat systems and as such the training is not available elsewhere.

For some courses and intakes this can mean 6 or 12 months before the next course is conducted.

There has been increased interest and applications since the border lockdown.

Some of the reasons the demand has been maintained for 94 years include

We have added more NZ training opportunities to our courses schedules and will be conducting training in other locations during the training year but with high interest and only small group training muster positions available, early applications are essential.

We are the oldest private specialist training providers in our field of European military armed and unarmed combat and military self-defence and as such have a responsibility to ensure we provide the best training we possibly can and we must ensure all applicants meet our mandatory course/training joining conditions and requirements as this is a responsibility we take very seriously.

We have developed specialist role duty and subject courses including our D-WAR (declare war against rape) anti and counter sexual violence program and we also conduct specialist close personal protection courses and defensive tactics for law-enforcement.

All applicants must understand that as civilians, training in our military close combat and self- defence skills is a privilege and not given right.

Only those that are responsible and have integrity and commitment need apply and on application must fulfil all training/joining instructions requirements and requests.

Failure to do so or answer communications will result in being removed from the course roll applied for and will prevent acceptance for any future courses applied for.

We do not want to train masses but do want to train individuals that seek training in our military self- defence and close combat and understand the responsibilities and requirements that come with being accepted for course/training joining.

These serious individuals are looking for genuine military trade-craft skills sets that is delivered or conducted under the command of a military Master-Instructor with a long official record of military courses instructing.

They know the military Master-Instructor qualifications are what separate them from civi self-defence instructors.

There are many privileges of membership including receiving your instruction from the official HQ source and being training by qualified military CQC Master-Instructors.

The Todd Group has visits from allied associate elite forces Master-Chief instructors that conduct visiting instructor training for our members.

The Todd Group are not only developers of the doctrine and training packages but also the developers and designers of training equipment and training weapons.

We are involved in all aspects of our military CQC/MSD tradecraft and are committed to our exponent’s, proponent’s and instructor’s development and achievement of competency, confidence, qualifications and promotion.

We run our civilian training similar to and in line with our military training provision providing a unique and special experience for practical realists looking for our best of battle proven tactics and skills training.

This training is not competitive or traditional arts orientated but will arm even the underdog with our best combative chance capabilities of defeating an aggressor by means of dirty tricks brigade methods of threat neutralisation.

Military close quarter’s combat and military self- defence is not a sport or traditional art; it has no age, weight or gender categories/divisions and as such is a best means for all responsible adults to arm themselves with the knowledge required to win and not merely survive a violent encounter.

Such training is vital to females and males of small stature if under assault by a bigger violent male aggressor with the bad intention of doing them serious bodily harm.

You won’t learn traditional fighting arts kicks, strikes, throws and techniques in our close combat.

We have always believed there are no exceptions when it comes to our people’s self-protection and that military close combat and military self-defence provides the best means of defeating a formidable aggressor facing a formidable foe.

We have had considerably more female exponents not only joining our ranks but also testing and achieving promotion than in our over nine decades as leaders in our field of expertise in NZ.

Responsible adults with the smarts and mental toughness are the individuals that we aim our recruiting at.

We provide our rank and file with everything they need to achieve their best level of skills competency and confidence, including our HQ developed training resources.

There should never be any confusion between civi instructors and their civi self-defence and highly qualified military CQC/MSD instructors with long records of military elite instructing service.

A word of caution; if you are looking for true military skills training from a highly qualified military instructor and have not seen any such proof ask direct questions and ask to see their mil qualifications before signing up if you want real mil self-defence and close combat training by a legitimate mil instructor.

The most important attributes that the individual exponent requires to achieve their combative best are mental toughness, inner resolve and practical smarts.

It is pointless undertaking any such training, if you do not possess the intestinal fortitude and will to overcome fears and weaknesses and do what must be done with the skills you possess.

These mental toughness, dedication and commitment personal attributes are vital to the achievement of skills competency just like they are vital to defeating a formidable foe.

While nothing is guaranteed in the world of unpredictable violence, the one thing you can do to increase your chances of winning is researching highly qualified mil self-defence and close combat instructors that have military elite long records of instructing service and course joining apply.

There is no easy way of arming yourself with knowledge and capabilities other than hands on training of the highest calibre and this is what we offer our people.

Just like you cannot get trained and qualified as an expert instructor on-line the same applies to learning how to effectively combat or counter violent threats.

You need hands on instruction and individual critiquing to hone primary self-protection capabilities.

The individual skill is one thing but all the initiation execution and contingency options that support objective achievement in the employment of the said skill are equally important and if you are not trained in such important components, you are not best prepared to threat neutralise.
