Todd Group selected Phase 3 specialist instructors of our European military CQC and military self- defence packages can join our military training team and log up military CQC instructing hours on Todd Group regular forces and elite forces pers courses of instruction.
The most recent military training provision circuit in Thailand included European mil CQC/MSD training provision at four different military locations to 4 different groups of Royal Thai military personnel.
The circuit included a half day of down time when we were taken by our Thai military facilitators to visit the War cemetery, Death Railway Museum and the Bridge over the River Kwai at Kanchanaburi.
One of our facilitators had been present back in 2012 when I previously conducted a week-long course of instruction at Kanchanaburi. The first Thai Army Ranger that tested and passed Phase 1 testing was also again present on this course.
The Todd Group military close quarters combat involvement in Thailand dates back to 1991 when I completed my mil elite forces hand-to-hand combat week-long instructor course and passed the instructor testing phase.
Since then our presence has increased and in the last 20 years has included conducting multiple courses every year along with contract training provision and individual instruction of attending international exponents.
I am the only instructor from the group of military instructors I have trained and worked with from back then still providing mil CQC training in Thailand.
Being leading and longest training providers in our specialist training packages delivery with a 92 year history of training provision of European military self- defence and European military armed and unarmed combat puts us in a standalone unique status with training provision.
It also provides our selected, trained, tested, and qualified instructors the opportunity of working on the Todd Group training team delivering training to military regular force and elite forces groups.
Receiving training from the headquarters source of doctrine and training package developers enables the mil groups we train to receive our most current primary proven military combative tactics and skills training.
The November circuit of military courses of instruction in Thailand included the delivery of our most current proven Todd systems specialist military threat neutralisation tactics and skills by both armed and unarmed means.
The training included specialist requirements detainee handling, including cordage restraint detainee configuration’s tying and non- mechanical restraint methods of securing detainees.
Prisoner securing specialist methods were but one of the mil skill sets requested and of considerable interest on all courses on this circuit. Comments such as they had not seen such specialist prisoner handling methods before were made.
These fit and capable lads tried their very hardest to escape but were unable to and this only made them more interested in European CQC.
Specialist disarming skills were also instructed on course for mil elite pers.
The Todd Group has allied CQC training connections globally and in our hub country of Thailand we have CQC training facilities and facilitators availability in several different regions of Thailand.
Our combined mil and civi exponents and instructors’ courses have developed a mutual allied respect and tight combative connection over the decades.
The Thai’s have a long history in Muay Thai including military variations and are respected as tough formidable fighters and as such embrace European mil CQC because of its brutal effectiveness.
The Thai mil groups we train don’t need or want martial arts or combat sports styles training for mil close combat roles but the brutal effectiveness of European mil CQC and the relevance to their roles and duties is something they are very interested and commit to training in.
Our mil groups respect that our advanced and specialist tactics and skills are restricted and not publically available and how our European mil CQC is all of the same system and similar principles combined with the training being delivered the military CQC trade-craft way and testing be challenging and service/role specific.
Post this circuit was taken up with meetings and planning our soon to be established Todd Group CQC Thailand HQ permanent training facility.
The end of the month I return for meetings and set up decision making for this new facility that will be the only such facility in Thailand providing our Todd Systems European mil CQC/MSD/CPO training.
