The border closures and restrictions have led to us having to postpone our October dual country close personal protection operators course in New Zealand and Thailand.
We have replaced it with a full course in New Zealand conducted at Camp Todd near the Dunedin airport and Todd Group HQ in Dunedin city.
This has enabled us to provide a reduced fee course that will be considerably more affordable for New Zealand attendees.
There has always been a demand for our CPP courses but for some the course fee has made it out of reach even though we conduct our courses at very reasonable rates.
CPP courses are resource and labour intensive because of the extensive course content that must be delivered and the training and training exercises requirements.
The Todd Group have the longest global history as training providers of our European military CQC and military self-defence, being established in 1927.
Our CPP courses are the longest private courses conducted in NZ providing all trade-craft skills requirements to work in the CPO industry.
We have instructed royal family close protection teams training as well as diplomatic protection training and our people have worked and continue to work close protection at the highest levels.
We have the facilities, expertise and specialist instructors to provide leading CPP training.
The basic CPP course is of two weeks duration and includes all the required tradecraft skills to work in the corporate and entertainment close protection industry.
It is unlikely this course will ever be conducted again at such a reduced fee.
To work in the CPP industry requires initiative and this begins with completing the necessary trade-craft training.
We are not recruiters, we are specialist training providers.
Its very much a case of having to have completed the required training to get employment in the close protection industry and without it if contracts become available is usually too late.
Only those that are 100% committed to undergoing such specialist training should and only after reading the full course joining information instructions and understanding all the requirements and conditions.
Attendees must be mature, responsible, safety conscious and have high levels of integrity as this course requires high level individual commitment and the ability to work as part of a small specialist team.
Having our own training camp and training facilities has enabled us to reduce the course fee to a very low rate.
Attendees will stay at Camp Todd and take care of their own meals.
The training will be conducted at Camp Todd and Todd Group HQ as well as at other satellite facilities for specific training needs and training exercises.

Planning preparation practice and performing a wide range of close protection duties as part of training exercises will be a major part of the course once competency has been achieved.

The Todd Group has a 93 year history of specialist training provision that includes our specialist close protection training to civilians, military and specialist law-enforcement
Todd Group close personal protection courses are intensive and require considerable commitment to the long and varied hours on course and partaking in training exercises. The course fees have been set at a reasonable rate for an extensive intensive specialist course of instruction. Today we train not only close personal protection specialists but also corporate and global travelers wanting to learn such skills to protect themselves, their family, staff and associates.
The course provides all the specialist skills and the basic level description is simply because of the course short duration that is a must for civilians to fit with available time and affordable course fees.
The courses are small group specialist intensive courses that require a mature, responsible, professional and sensible attitude with attention to detail and a willingness to partake in practical training exercises as a member of small specialist group. Attendees also need to be able to work as individuals committing to the required tasks discreetly and with commitment. Attendees learn a wealth of current tactically correct knowledge and must be able to plan, multitask and conduct themselves in a professional manner to deal with the adverse effects of information overload and long training hours. Many former attendees of Todd Group close personal protection courses of instruction have gone on to work in lucrative protective employment including civilian and Government services close protection roles.
Close personal protection is a Todd Group tradecraft skill set required to complete all phase 3 specialist armed and unarmed combat and military self-defence training and can be undertaken by Todd Group members of all ranks at any time and signed off as completed when they reach the phase 3 specialist rank.
Information including logistical details will be provided to all accepted attendees.

This is a volunteer course of instruction where all accepted attendees must be responsible mature participants in all theory and practical training as well as all training exercises.
Safety is paramount and as such all attendees must be safety conscious at all times abiding by their code of conduct contracts.
Training is a privilege not a right and requires high integrity and responsible behavior at all times.
Course fees new exponents Non-current Todd Group members $3000.00 NZD. This fee includes all instruction including practical training and training exercises. It also includes all on course transport, training exercises and driving and, armed CPP training phases. Accommodation at Camp Todd from the day before the course starts until the day after the course ends. Attendees will take care of their own meals requirements.
This is a Todd Group certified course of instruction and is not a licensing course. Attendees that partake in and complete all facets of this course of instruction will be presented with course completion certification. There will not be certificates presented to anyone that does not complete the full course of instruction and all training exercises.
This course being conducted completely in NZ has come about because of the Covid-19 border closures/restrictions and has been set up to be as affordable as possible for attendees.
I am sure if you do some research and course content comparisons you will identify just how reduced and reasonable the rates are.
Anyone that cannot afford the courses fees and related travel and general expenses should not apply.
There are only limited positions and when they are taken there will be no more positions available and we do not have similar courses planned in NZ as we are working on conducting overseas courses again from 2021.
