Hello Todd Group,
I was wondering if there are Todd systems CQC tactics for offensive and counteroffensive team situations as in 2 against 1 subject, literally multiple attackers in reverse.
KG Europe
The answer is yes to your question and below are some such roles and situations.
In mil CQC especially mil elite close combat and defensive tactics special tactics roles and duties there are team tactics/skills for various team roles and duties employments. There are specific formations, ranges and distances that are essential to control, containment and threat neutralisation that must be adhered to in team employments.
Individual combatants must be able to maintain formation or if compromised plug breaches as part of their contingency plans, means and methods.
There are set actions for specific actions on so everyone knows what to do to
Maintaining shape and not interfering or hindering other operator’s movements/actions is a must.
While maintaining shape and distances is important so is being able to deform the formation to fit with landscapes and obstacles.
The procedures must ensure/maintained/regained fluid actions through what we call individual unitism which equates to decisive slick fluid movements/actions as one entity.
The integrity of a static/moving formation is only as effective as the weakest link.
All operators must know what to do under all actions on situations so there is no confusion.
They must have complete confidence in their team members and tactics and skills.
Rank in an important part of what and when actions are taken and how they are taken.
Team tactics in C&R like 2 pers and 3 pers formations and the senior per doing the negotiations giving the commands and others knowing who makes the first and next moves are one such example.
There are offensive and counteroffensive skills employments and directional movements determined by threat/changes in threat etc.
There are a lot of principles involved for situational and threat variants for different services/roles/duties and situational and threat specific requirements.
In our self- minder/Close Protection and Defensive tactics for law-enforcement, team tactics play an important part of safe effective threat neutralisation.
Such team tactics are equally as important in mil elite green/black role/urban-operator’s actions on threat neutralisation.
Crowd combat and riot control are other areas where team tactics and skills are also important means of threat neutralisation.
Such tactics and skills enable threat domination including clearing and moving formations to funnel or disperse crowds/mobs.
The specific tactics and skills share commonality but are specific to role and objective achievement.
Mental toughness is the most important individual operators attribute as this enables confidence under threat to maintain position/formation which increases the effectiveness of the team as a formidable unit.
While some outfits focus on just control, containment or maintaining/regaining law and order the mil elite team tactics and skills we instruct are considerably more about superior capabilities over the threat.
This includes domination by number of operators and fire-power as well as being able to in an instant increase the intensity in relation to threat level changes.
Commonality of skills and cohesive actions with high level scope for upping the anti enables high risk threat neutralisation.
It is important the individual combatants can equally protect themselves/neutralise threats as individuals as well as part of highly trained teams.
It’s one thing being able to as a team overpower and control an aggressor that is contained and unarmed by share numbers and kit but in order to have full confidence in team members knowing that they have proven themselves in training/testing as individuals under realistic threat is important as the team is only as strong as the weakest link.
It is very important that individual operators can effectively protect themselves and neutralise threats under assault at all times if targeted because of their service/role or simply if they end up facing assault in their civilian life and as such training must be not only team tactics but also individual arming of self-protection capabilities.
We receive more and more requests for such training including from overseas.
