Military Self-Defence and Military Unarmed Combat training for mil pers and responsible civilians in Thailand
The Todd Group, the oldest private European military close quarters combat and military self-defence training providers, are pleased to advise we will expand our training provision in Thailand, our international hub country in 2020. The establishment of our new specialist military combative and self-defence facility will be second to none in not only our skills training provision, but also the training simulators and the scope of our new CQC-specific combative training facility.
The facilities and training features will include versions of those designed and developed by our former pioneer WWII CQC/MSD leading instructors and current mil CQC training facilities and equipment.
The aim is simple role and requirement specific CQC/MSD training areas facilities and equipment.
This has been brought about by referral and demand for our specialist services.
We have the longest history of the provision of European military CQC training in Thailand to the military and civilians.
Expanding our services in Thailand to a full-time operation with the biggest and best of everything in CQC training facilities will reduce international exponents’ expenses of long haul flights to our New Zealand HQ facility.
Exponents attending courses in New Zealand and Thailand over the last 10 years have come from Europe, the United States, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, India and other countries.
Providing combative tourism under our elite action adventure banner, as well as intensive training under our self-defence school, a division of the Todd Group will provide training for individuals of wide ranging capabilities. The Todd Group in New Zealand have a Dunedin city headquarters facility and a 100 pers camp set in extensive bush and open country close to Dunedin airport.
There are no other Master-instructor operated private specialist military European military CQC training providers in New Zealand with the history qualifications and records of instructing service of the Todd Group and the same applies in our international hub country of Thailand.
We will be conducting European MSD Military Self-Defence and MUC Military Unarmed Combat/CQC Close Quarters Combat training for adult responsible civilians.
Scope of training provision will also include specialist subject courses
- CPP Close personal protection specialist courses of instruction
- D-WAR Declare War against Rape short specialist courses of combat and counter sexual violence
- Defensive tactics police and security self-protection and detainee/prisoner handling
- Amphib Specialist mil CQC/MSD shore and water combative and self-protection training
- Wide ranging specialist military armed and unarmed combat courses of instruction
These courses will include short courses as well as week long and two week long military CQC/MSD/CPP intensive training experiences.
Instruction will be by the Todd Group established 1927, the longest operating training providers of our European military elite MSD MUC/CQC/CQB specialist training packages spanning 93 years.
We are the only training providers in Thailand of our mil CQC/MSD trade-craft packages and Thailand is the Todd Group HQ hub country for international exponents training delivery.
Be trained by Geoff “Tank” Todd, a qualified certified military elite Master-Chief instructor and live military CQC on course getting as close to experiencing our military combative training as a civilian can.
The Todd Group has an instructor lineage of no other global mil CQC training provider that includes our Master-Chief instructor Tank, being instructor qualified by some of the WWII leading military senior and Master-Chief Instructors, as well as the next generation of military elite master-chief instructors.
He has been a military CQC/MSD proponent/instructor for over 40 years and has a military CQC qualifications resume of no other instructor in his field from some of the late legendary greats of allied military close combat.

While training can be as challenging as the exponent/candidate wanted to be in relation to their needs and capabilities, testing and earning advancement and promotion requires dedication, commitment, practical smarts and intestinal fortitude.
From the rest come the best and with this new major facility, we hope to identify more of the fraction of 1 percenters that prove themselves under testing, earning rank and the right to promotion and advancement to advanced and specialist training.
As responsible and professional training providers of over 90 years to the military and civilian sector, we take our responsibility in regards to vetting, training, and testing exponent/candidates very seriously.
Individuals have to earn the right to undergo advanced or specialist training by completing mandatory training hours, volunteering for testing, passing testing, and being of the required attitude and demeanour.
There is no common-sense reasoning for settling for anything but the best of battle proven training when it comes to yours and your loved one’s safety and protection.
Common sense must prevail and exponents must be honest with themselves in relation to their commitment levels required in being the best exponent they can be, this will dictate to a major extent the option they decide on for their self-protection and combative training.
While accepted applicant exponents of different capabilities can undergo training, they cannot claim rank or capability unless they have tested and passed testing phases. Those with the smarts know there are no easy soft options or political passes.

Our new Thailand HQ facility with its mil CQC training areas equipment and courses of instruction plus the unequalled set up of the facility that includes training simulators such as air craft, helicopters, vehicles, buildings and jungle training stands is extensive and makes for a most beneficial and interesting training experience.
The facility is currently being developed and will include a CQC pit, bayonet course, dug outs, outside corridors and buildings for indoors MSD training.
Accommodation and meals are provided on courses including barracks accommodation and an outdoors mess built in the near future.
We have a major staff in country including two Thailand recruiters, a personal assistant, and Thai national coordinator along with all the facilitation staff at the new Thailand facility. Our first Thai citizens courses kick off in February and the first International exponent’s course will be in early May.
We pride ourselves in our longest private training provider service record and our standalone leading lineage of qualifications from the following pioneer military Senior through Master-Chief Instructors of allied mil CQC/MSD in SGM Harry Baldock, Col Rex Applegate and Platoon Sergeant Charles Nelson combined with some next generation of leading mil CQC Master Instructors.
We have put in over nine decades learning from some of the leading mil expert instructors and have been mil elite forces CQC instructors for over 25 years. This is our full time occupation, not a hobby and we are fully committed in all aspects of our trade-craft.
When you undertake at courses you are getting your training from the doctrine holders and skills and training package developers. You are getting your training directly from the mil CQC HQ source.
Those serious with the smarts when it comes to their close combat and military self-defence training want to know their instructors have been trained tested and qualified in military self-defence and military armed and unarmed combat and that the tactics and skills they are being instructed in are in fact current military tradecraft training.

The European military CQC/MSD training that will be delivered at our new Thailand HQ facility will be our most current proven mil MSD/CQC role/exponent specific skills training, instructed by a current military Master-Chief instructor and our training team instructors.
Training will include the Todd Group’s mental toughness training from our Brain to Boot mil CQC/MSD program along with wide ranging military self-defence and military unarmed and armed combat in relation to the exponents service role and duties as well as military self-defence and military close quarters combat for responsible approved civilian’s.
The Thailand facility will have full day training as well as night training of specialist skills including battle handling exercises and sneaker courses in the dark of night.
The new facility will enable all aspects of our specialist close personal protection courses to be conducted in camp, as well as dual country courses that include training in both Thailand and New Zealand along with training exercises in both countries and a long haul flight component.
These courses include all close protection trade-craft skills training that include driving and shooting phases along with our leading CPP related CQC/CQB/DT/S/D training.
We will also provide amphib CQC/MSD training and utilise training simulator vehicles and facades for specific threats self-protection.
The new facility has jungle for specific training and we will establish areas for drill to command training, urban environments threat neutralisation, pugil stick battling as well as CQC jungles lanes/courses.
Many of the important training packages from our combating enemy fighting arts training will be included on courses at this new International facility.
For the identified committed competent exponents volunteer candidates will be able to undergo our revered testing phases.
To achieve promotion exponents must complete mandatory training hours and pass demanding testing.
This self-eliminates those that don’t possess what it takes and as such maintains the highest standards.
We have weekend short courses and weeklong intensive courses to meet wide ranging exponents needs and capabilities.
For committed practical serious mil CQC/MSD enthusiasts wanting entry to our advanced mil CQC/MSD training and specialist Phase 3 training it all begins with Phase 1 Basic training completion, and achieving a pass outcome in Phase 1 Basic testing.
Training in mil CQC/MSD for civilians is a privilege not a given right and requires integrity loyalty with honour, responsibility, commitment dedication and mental toughness.
Applicants must undergo vetting for courses joining and as such can be required to provide background records and proof of identification.
This is not traditional martial arts or combat sports training, it is our most current of battle proven military dirty tricks brigade tactics and skills training under the command/instruction of a mil elite CQC/MSD Master- Chief instructor.
