Germany Annual CQC Course 2019

The Todd Group just completed our annual Germany Phase 1 Basic and Phase 2 advanced courses for 2019.

This course was hosted by Ken Oesterreich at his home facility and we were as always well-resourced and shown first class hospitality.

The course included current and new phase 1 exponents and Phase 2 advanced exponents.

There were three Phase 3 Specialist instructors on course from Germany the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

While we did not conduct any exponent phase testing on this year’s course, we did ensure exponents were exposed to increased intensity training and got to train in extensive skills training in their respective phase of training.

Week-long intensive courses are as much about individual exponent’s skills competency and mental toughness as they are about their attitude evaluation including their respect for their instructors and other exponents.

Courses such as the Germany exported course provide the in-country host instructor combined with the course chief instructor and instructing team to identify individual exponents every strength weakness and character faults.

Week-long exported courses provide the opportunity for global exponents and instructors to get training from the systems source.

Only Todd Group HQ Master instructors can conduct phase testing so it is important for exported courses where exponents may volunteer for testing that Master-Instructors are conducting such courses.

Sudden Aggressive Shock Action Phase 1 Basic Training

The exponent’s on this course as with most Todd Group courses include military or former military pers, current or former law-enforcement pers including police instructors and serious civi CQC enthusiasts.

There were some dedicated traditional martial arts black belts on this course that are getting their CQC skills squared away.

The one thing they all shared is the will to be trained in the most current of the Todd systems military CQC and military self-defence under the instruction of a current mil CQC/MSD Master-Chief Instructor.

The Todd Group being a small specialist mil CQC training provider with the longest history in our specific mil CQC systems training provision can export courses globally fully staffed supported and resourced focusing on setting and maintaining the highest mil combative standards for small group courses of instruction.

We do not need or want the masses.

Our ethos is to identify and prove the fraction of one percenters that will make it up through the ranks and this is done by conducting week long intensive courses such as the recent Germany course.

Our recruiting training provision and candidate testing are tasks to be continued every year.

We receive inquiries from individuals seeking skills competency recognition in mil CQC from the Todd Group and this is without any proof of ever previously passing an official military CQC/MSD exponent course let alone a mil CQC instructors course.

Unlike the lads and lasses that volunteer for our civi courses like the recent Germany course accepting the challenges that come with mil CQC training for our civi exponents those that inquire about prior recognition using civi certificates and civi styles participation as their reasoning must understand they need to apply for course joining and volunteer for testing the same as all civi exponents as there are no political passes and all exponents must prove themselves.

We conduct our civi courses in-line with our mil CQC courses and some courses are combined mil and civi courses.

Those that make recognition of prior training requests obviously cannot get the quals they seek from their current or former style.

If they truly have the skills and capabilities they claim and are confident why would they not simply apply for course joining and volunteer for testing.

The quietly confident exponents respectful of the chain of command that get on with their training following orders and instructions and achieving objectives to the best of their abilities are what the instructing team are looking for on courses such as the exported course to Germany.

There were some very capable proven exponents on this course and some exponents that showed sound capabilities levels and promise for future training and testing.

From here its back to Todd Group HQ then off to a full muster annual Auckland course.
