The Todd Group has a long term unique history and status with combining our civi CQC instructing team members with mil CQC pers and serious civi CQC exponents on courses and under testing phases.

This most recent course included delivering instruction to elite forces pers and continuation training at our Thailand standalone training facility to ensure attending members remain current in all phases of training.

We have had to add additional exported courses for new entry phase 1 basic and current phase 2 advanced exponents in Thailand our international hub country for 2025.

The first such course that is close to a full muster already is in early March and the course application and joining information and instructions are posted at www.toddgroup.com

The senior lads on this most recent phase 3 specialist’s course in November/December in Thailand included instructor members from Australia, Europe and NZ along with a 30 strong Thai contingent.

Our long history in Thailand our international hub country spanning several decades has forged many mil CQC connections and friendships.

This course being restricted access to elite forces CQC/MSD skills instructors and proponents only, enabled training provision of high level specialist armed and unarmed trade-craft training to willing and capable combatants under a regime where every minute of training time was utilised with no restrictions the mil elite irregular CQC way.

Post instructing to mil elite combatants it was back to our Thailand HQ facility for phase 3 proponents continuation training in phase 3 specialist skills and upskilling in the most current phase 1 basic and phase 2 advanced skills.

Phase 3 specialist proponents training includes CQB skills at arms and phase 3 specialist CQC/MSD, phase 2 advanced CQC/MSD and phase 1 basic primary CQC/MSD skills.

There are also close personal protection specific tactics and skills and law-enforcement DT defensive tactics training included on phase 3 courses.

Small group specialist skills training for our phase 3 proponents and instructors is irregular close combat training and the training regime is considerably different from basic and advanced CQC regular training regimes.

The senior proponents are not in to the flash and dash or sporting type training as it is strictly the combat they are specialists in and not the art forms or competitive codes.

It is the effectiveness and the over kill realities that attracted them to our mil close combat and mil self-defence and that is what keeps them striving for dirty tricks brigade excellence over their decades of training commitment and instructing duties provision.

They enjoy the logistics being organised for them from when they land in Thailand until when they leave and having our own Thailand HQ training facility and access to satellite training facilities throughout Thailand.

The cross fertilisation of training with and being on the instructing team with Todd Group instructors from around the world as well as the connection with other countries mil CQC pers and close combat cross-fertilisation is a most beneficial experience.

We were receiving even more Thailand requests for training and applications while on course than usual with the MSD podcasts drawing more European mil CQC/MSD enthusiasts to apply to course join.

The requests for specific close combat and mil self-defence content podcasts has been constant since the first podcast this year.

The training group lads got to see a lot of our locations in Thailand and meet our Thai associates and facilitators.

They got to instruct skills sets like the bayonet course and lethal battle field armed and unarmed close combat skills that they do not get to deliver on non mil elite courses of instruction.

Dagger combat for the battle field is a vital non-ballistic weapons trade-craft skill set for the elite combatant where specialist quick and quiet objective achievement is a must in their close combat arsenal.

The mil elite pers got to ask questions on wide ranging mil elite close combat that they wanted to know the answers to and the interaction between the mil elite proponents on course and the Todd Group instructing team members was that of a close bond through a kindred close combat mentality and interest.

These elite combatants enjoyed the demonstration I gave of hard accurate battlefield close combat dagger throwing and lethal spinal cord destruction skills that are restricted to elite forces kill or die close combat training.

The European mil elite CQC is what brings us all together and makes and strengthens our close combat connections and bonds.

Many mil proponents and civi enthusiasts have backgrounds in civi fighting arts and combat sports codes but know there is a big difference in objective achievement requirements means and methods for the battle field to that of civi fighting arts and competition codes.

It’s all about the most terminal mil specialist trade-craft training for operational objective achievement, where it can come down to kill or die.
