Instructing team Canterbury weekend course Sept 26th-27th 2020
The Todd Group regional training courses are conducted under strict specialist skills provisions SOPS to set and maintain highest trade-craft standards as responsible training providers. Military CQC and self-defence training for civilians is a privilege and not a given right and all applicants are vetted and must meet our responsible citizens course joining requirements. The Christchurch short course, like all recent NZ regional courses have been full musters of serious responsible individuals.
Todd Group depot instructors must operate under our high standards of professional recruiting and training provision standard operating procedures to ensure standards are maintained and all exponents meet required training joining conditions.
There are no other European military CQC/MSD Master–Instructor qualified training instructors in New Zealand and with the skills being current military primary practices, it is important that all exponents meet the required course joining standards/conditions and that the training is delivered in relation to high-level tradecraft standards.
The Todd Group global HQ being in New Zealand equates to all our instructors, exponents and proponents getting their training, testing and qualifications directly from the source and this is important in setting and maintaining the highest hands on standards.
Previously the demand for our services internationally has had the Todd Group running at capacity schedules resulting in regional training being restricted to in the North island Auckland and South island training to Todd Group HQ/Camp Todd Dunedin.
The current international border restrictions has enabled us to run additional weekend recruiting and continuation training courses in New Zealand and this has given more New Zealanders the opportunity to experience military unarmed combat and military self-defence.
Our most recent course was conducted in Christchurch and was a full muster.
There was a full team of Todd Group instructors and assistant instructors in attendance to ensure exponents received high level instruction.
The phase 1 Basic and phase 2 Advanced CQC/MSD training was conducted simultaneously in separate areas covering wide ranging tradecraft skill sets.
Having such a large indoors training facility was advantageous in running both phases simultaneously.
The weekend training also included introductory defensive tactics/control and restraint and the Todd systems specialist anti and counter sexual violence D-WAR: declare war against rape training.
The Todd Group have had a long involvement with training and recruiting in Canterbury as well as prior to the earthquake having a fight times supplies store operating in Christchurch.
Enquiries for training as well as supplying Canterbury martial arts and combat sports clubs and retail customers from our online fight times store continue to increase.
Keeping the training specialist strict and to the point delivered under mil CQC tradecraft instructor to exponent small group ratios provides attendees with a leading self-defence and CQC training experience.
The Christchurch weekend course provided new exponent’s with a hands-on insight into what European military unarmed combat and self-defence is really like and as always they were surprised at the simplicity and capabilities of the skills.
Advanced phase 2 exponents got two days of continuation training while attending assistant instructors and instructors were privy to the most current skills and got to work together delivering training.
The Todd Group members attending HQ/Camp Todd and regional courses training benefit by considerable and show their dedication and commitment to being an active member of the oldest global private military self-defence and military unarmed combat training organisation.
This is especially important to members that are not training weekly at Todd Group HQ.
The Todd Group NZ model works well and is about training and proving one dedicated and committed exponent at a time.
The border lockdown has enabled us to increase our recruiting of new exponents and providing existing members continuation training by considerable.
Our training is a tradecraft and not a hobby or sport and our depot instructors are not franchise holders but are tradecraft training providers that keep all revenue from their provided training duties.
They can operate training provision that best fits with their availability and circumstances and it can range from individual tuition training through to group training that is scheduled or by arrangement.
We have had numbers of Canterbury based candidates that have passed testing phases over the decades, and it’s always good to have them on course. Having completed the weekend Christchurch course we are now redirecting our full attention to the upcoming October 2 week long specialist close personal protection course of instruction at Camp Todd and Todd Group HQ.
The demand is such for true military self-defence and CQC training that when through unforeseen dire situations training cannot be conducted, there are always immediately available other training provision options ready to go through requests and referrals.
Thanks to all the members and new entry exponents that made the Christchurch weekend a top training experience.
