Auckland CQC Course 2015

Technique to command drills

Spec force is now under new ownership and is now Ludas Magnus school of training.

This year’s course conducted between June 7 and June 13 was a pleasure to oversee and instruct.

All exponents on course trained with commitment and diligence right throughout the course.

Combining the phase 1 and 2 courses of instruction for joint training in drills conditioning and enhancement exercises provided benefits to both the advance phase 2 exponents and the basic phase 1 exponents.

Technique to command

21 highly committed exponent’s that could not be seen at any time standing idle put in some sound level training hours.

The brain to boot audio exercises to enhance combative skills employments was well received and the level of competency in combining psychological conditioning and enhancement skills with physical combative skills was very apparent.

Mechanically restrained exercises that reduced individual exponent’s capabilities and ensured they had to achieve objectives under restricted and disabled conditions enhanced their execution of skills when they had their full capabilities available.

Such training has been a long term and effective means of ensuring exponent’s do not lose mental toughness and can adjust to dire situations by means of fast mapping assessment and the most effective options decision-making.

The phase 2 advanced course of instruction worked their way through advanced preventative CQC as well as combat takedowns, ground combat, tactical control and restraint, multiple armed and unarmed aggressors, coming to the aid of a victim at weapon point, breaking up a confrontation, strangulation and choking and much more.

They achieved the objectives of a basic enabling level in the second phase advance skills and during their mandatory 400 hours of continuation training in phase 2 advanced skills must achieve proficiency in the cohesive combination of phase 1 and phase 2 skills.

The phase 1 course of instruction as the week progressed became more proficient in military technique to command drills as well as the toughener and sickener phases including coming back from the dead and CQC milling.

These combative capabilities conditioning exercises combined with being mechanically restrained under assault and tethered to ensure correct unarmed offensive assault and unarmed evasive counter offensive assault ranges were employed, developed the individual exponents confidence and competency.

Tethered range finder and expedient entry action training

Before we knew it day seven and the phase 1 test was upon us. Nine willing candidates volunteered for the very real CQC capability self-revealing phase 1 test.

Six candidates were successful in passing the phase 1 test bringing an end to a very pleasing week-long CQC course of instruction.

Weekly training will be continued at Ludas Magnus Auckland and the 2016 annual Auckland course of instruction will also be conducted their June 5-11, 2016. For weekly continuation training information contact John Adlington – [email protected].
